The Path to Wellness

Overcome Your Challenges Through Equine Assisted Psychotherapy

We all face challenges and obstacles in our lives that can require the help of others to overcome. A very successful and unique form of therapy is Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP). This innovative form of treatment has proven particularly effective for many individuals.

By interacting with horses in a setting structured and moderated by a licensed psychotherapist specially trained and certified in equine assisted psychotherapy, many individuals are able to overcome their obstacles and achieve remarkable progress in a short period of time.

Oftentimes victims of trauma, particularly those suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), respond very well to the unique strengths that Equine Assisted Psychotherapy have to offer. By establishing an emotional connection with the horse, individuals become more conscious of their thoughts and emotions. As a result, our staff of trained professionals is able to promote discussion of problematic issues and assist with the individual's road to recovery.

We have created a safe and supportive environment that enables individuals to overcome their challenges, recover their own sense of worth, and build a foundation for making positive choices in the future.

We are a state-licensed treatment program whose highly qualified staff of licensed professionals follows the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) model of treatment. This model gives us a structured way to deliver treatment that has been proven effective through years of experience.

Learning to feel comfortable in the presence of large and powerful horses (through grooming them, leading them, and other un-mounted ground activities) assists an individual in developing stronger self confidence. As a result of the bond between human and animal, the individual is able to confront their fears and more effectively communicate with our experienced and highly qualified staff.
